The Pentagon has issued a stark warning that future wars may no longer be confined overseas, cautioning that the United States itself could come under direct attack. Under a new U.S. defense strategy, homeland defense has been elevated to a top priority as nuclear, cyber, space, and electromagnetic threats rapidly expand. The warning comes amid escalating confrontation with Iran, which has threatened retaliatory strikes on what it calls “enemy territories” and is reportedly developing long-range missile capabilities, including a claimed 10,000 km ballistic missile.
