These days, Otto the Great, originally Otto of Saxony, since 962 AD Holy Roman Emperor of German Nationality, found his final resting-place in Magdeburg Cathedral, Eastern Germany. Reason enough to focus on a forgotten chapter of German history: The slave trade crossing wide parts of medieval Europe and which was impossible to realize without imperial protection.
