This morning, Iran's Prime Minister and Russia's president Putin met in Moscow to sign a mutual agreement comprising economic and military features. The treaty is intended to fix the strategic plannings of both sides for the 20 years to come. It has already been announced on Early Bird in December 2024.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Massoud Bizeshkian that Moscow and Tehran are discussing the possibility of supplying Iran with Russian gas, in a move aimed at diversifying Russian gas flows and finding new buyers after the decline in exports to Europe as a result of the war in Ukraine.
Putin noted that the project, once fully implemented, could supply Iran with up to 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year, but stressed that the initial phase would begin with small quantities not exceeding two billion cubic meters.
For his part, Bizshkian explained that there are some technical issues that need to be addressed before the project can go forward, according to Reuters.
In a related context, the Russian Interfax news agency, quoting Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsevelev, reported that the proposed gas pipeline between Russia and Iran will pass through the territory of Azerbaijan if it is actually implemented.
Putin reiterated that Russia is looking for ways to diversify gas flows and secure new gas outlets, in light of the challenges posed by recent geopolitical developments, Reuters reported.

Some days ago, a big German newspaper 'Die Welt' published an article written by business & media tycoon Elon Musk in which he gave a recommendation to vote for AFD in the upcoming Federal Elections on February 23, 2025.
AFD is a party on the rise during the actual period of economic uncertainty in Germany and, as well, known to be opposed to basic rules of democracy. Therefore many elements of society, still forming a majority in Germany, and who would like to avoid AFD as a major player in the building of a new government after the elections, are now outraged. Bashar al-Assad's forces were overwhelmed and fled, leaving back even their tanks. The battle is the first of its kind in Syria since 2020, after Russia, Turkey and Iran agreed on de-escalation zones, such cementing their influence in 2019.
The timing of the operations may be related to the current involvement of Iran and its Lebanese proxy Hezbollah in a military conflict with Israel, while Russia is currently waging war with Ukraine which enjoys material support from its Western allies in Europe and the USA.
On the other hand, Turkey is increasingly suspected to support Syria's Assad regime in regaining control of northern Syria. This would most probably neutralize militant Kurdish tribes in Syria and would thereby help Turkey to get along with its own Kurdish population.

Most recently, rumours spread in the Arab world hinting at a possible deal cut between Saudi crown prince Bin Salman and Israeli PM Netanyahu. Even influential media sources seem to be confused of what is happening in Saudi Arabia and equally pose the same question whether Bin Salman is handing over the land of the two mosques* to the Jews (هل سلموا بلاد الحرمين لليهود), thereby quoting a blatant blasphemic event that should have taken place in Riyadt. It is about some licentious party with half-naked dancers performing in front of a virtual model of the Kaaba.

At the same time, the Saudi regime imprisoned Sheikh Saleh Al-Talib, Imam and preacher at the Grand Mosque in Mecca in the aftermath of his last sermon that criticised the Saudi authorities. Yet there are Muslims in support of Sheikh Saleh, one of them saying that [Religious fight] is saying its word of truth in the presence of an unjust ruler (الجهاد قول كلمه حق عند سلطان جائر), thereby referring to the above mentioned dance party. Another comment on the subject even quoted the Holy Quran (17-16 سورة الإسراء الآية), revoking the destruction of Earth in the biblical Flood.
At least one commentator tries to give a serious explanation of what is happening in Saudi Arabia and what it means to the rather conservative Muslimic population of that country. It's not about light entertainment during the Riyadh festival, but rather about a social explosive:
