Palestinian Art on 'Nakba Day'
In 1948, after a rush of Jews from every corner in the world into the 'Holy Land of Monotheist Religions', more than half of Palestine's original population had to leave their homes in the so-called An-Nakba, the catastrophe of expulsion, in order to make place for the new landowners who now settled in Palestine and founded their state of Israel.
Since then, the Key of a Palestinian Home has become a symbol of what Palestinians had to abandon on Nakba Day. Therefore it was up to the only recently founded UNO organizations to ensure the survival of Palestine's population.
